Many of the children, H2A helps, are in foster care or orphanage placements in America, China, and Brazil, waiting to be adopted by caring parents.  However, due to their untreated physical or psychological disabilities never become adopted, as the average family is often fearful of becoming responsible for those children due to their inability to deal with and/or access treatment for those children’s special challenges.

These children then often grow up parentless, emotionally and physically delayed, and are often treated as outcasts by society.  In addition to assisting orphans and foster children, H2A also aims at supporting the psychological and physical needs of children who already have been adopted, but due to their disability are having difficulties meeting age appropriate developmental guidelines.
